Postdocs

Postdoctoral researchers take their next career steps at ISTA

Postdocs

Highly qualified candidates who have recently completed their PhD or equivalent in the natural or computer sciences, mathematics or any related discipline are eligible to apply for a full-time postdoctoral position at Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA).

Postdocs at ISTA develop the skills necessary for their next career steps elsewhere (career development trainings and workshops). Postdocs interact closely with colleagues from different fields through joint projects and events, and have access to state-of-the art facilities from bioimaging to nanofabrication and scientific computing.

How to apply

A postdoctoral fellow can be appointed for a period of up to five years. Candidates are selected by the head of a research group (Professor or Assistant Professor). If you are interested in a postdoctoral position at ISTA please contact the respective group leader directly.

For more detailed information, please visit our Postdoc website.

Fellowships @ISTA

ISTA offers two fellowship programs for outstanding, external postdoctoral candidates: The ‘NOMIS fellowships at ISTA’ program supports applicants working at the intersection of two or more scientific disciplines and who show significant scientific leadership potential. The IST-BRIDGE program (partially funded by the European Union) will support international applicants with a ‘career track’ training program whose proposed research and experience complements those of an existing IST research group.

For application documents, deadlines, and other information about the NOMIS Fellowship program use this link NOMIS Fellowship program.

The IST-BRIDGE program launched in August 2021, with a first submission deadline of November 5, 2021 (14:00 CET). Further deadlines will follow in May and November 2022 and 2023. To start your application, please see the program webpage.
